As the Waterfall Capital of Wisconsin, Marinette County is home to several fantastic falls, each boasting its own unique beauty – and Long Slide Falls is one of them.
Surrounded by rock formations and flowing with force, Long Slide Falls is arguably the most impressive waterfall in northeast Wisconsin. And at an impressive 50 feet high, it’s also one of the region’s largest. You'll be enamored with this spot in no time.
Located in a park with the same moniker, Long Slide Falls is rather easy to access. Another perk to the waterfall’s park locale is free, ample parking, so you won't have to worry about where to leave your car as you head out on an adventure.
There are two options for hiking to Long Slide Falls. You can hike to an overlook above the falls or trek down a steep path to the base of the falls, which is about ¼-mile round trip.
Though a bit steep, many choose to hike to the base of the falls because it’s where the best vistas can be found. Don't forget to snap a few photos as you explore the area.
The aforementioned vistas are plentiful, as you can climb on the rocks that surround the waterfall to get different views from an array of angles. Just remember to be especially careful when climbing on the rocks – they get slippery.
