1. Big Manitou Falls

There’s no better place to begin your waterfall road trip in Wisconsin than Pattison State Park, which is where you’ll find Big Manitou Falls, the state's tallest and most impressive fall. Standing at 165 feet, it’s just two feet shorter than Niagara Falls! As an added bonus, you can explore the nearby Little Manitou Falls, a smaller 30-foot version of Big Manitou Falls. This is a must-visit for sure.

2. Morgan Falls

Continue your journey with a visit to Wisconsin’s second tallest waterfall, Morgan Falls. The towering waterfall drops between 70 feet and 100 feet into an unnamed tributary of Morgan Creek. Located in the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest, Morgan Falls can be easily reached via a 1.2-mile out-and-back trail. It's waterfall perfection.

3. Copper Falls

At 30 feet tall, Copper Falls is much smaller than the previous waterfalls, but no less impressive. And while it may be the namesake of Copper Falls State Park, it’s actually not the park’s onlywaterfall. Brownstone Falls and Red Granite Falls are also located within the park, and just like Copper Falls, can be easily accessed thanks to well-marked trails. To get a good view of Copper Falls, take the Doughboys Nature Trail, which also leads to Brownstone Falls.

4. Potato River Falls

Deemed one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the Midwest, Potato River Falls descends 90 feet into the Potato River, near the small town of Gurney. Twice as nice, the waterfall is divided into two sections, the lower Potato River Falls and the upper Potato River Falls. You’ll be able to see the lower falls from an observation deck in the parking lot. However, in order to view the falls in their entirety, your best bet is to take the 0.8-mile out-and-back trail that leads straight to them. Our advise? Take the hike -- you'll be glad you visited this Wisconsin waterfall.

5. LaSalle Falls

With only a 22-foot drop, LaSalle Falls is the smallest waterfall on our list. However, it makes up for its shorter stature in distance – the waterfall boasts about a 1/2 mile of rapids. A 1.9-mile out-and-back trail leads straight to the falls. Keep in mind that a portion of the trail requires climbing down a steep and challenging hill, so wear appropriate footwear.
