In far northern Wisconsin, Lost Creek Falls treats hikers to a beautiful fall scene – a backcountry cascade that's surrounded by fall colors. It's considered one of the best ways to see Wisconsin in the fall. Here’s what you need to know to enjoy this fall waterfall hike to Lost Creek Falls in Wisconsin.

Lost Creek Falls is located in a place with a perfect fall name: Cornucopia. It was given the name over a century ago because of its abundance of resources.

The town was historically the heart of logging country, but today it’s in the middle of a big Northwoods tourism destination - Bayfield County.

The county has just 98 residents, but many more pass through here on vacations to the offshore Apostle Islands. The islands are magical, but there’s also some incredible beauty to discover on the mainland.

Lost Creek Falls is a place that’s accessible on foot. A 2.2-mile out-and-back trail will take you right to the falls.

The trail is a little challenging, so allow plenty of time to complete the hike. Enjoy the boardwalks, but use caution as you pass over roots on the trail.

The effort of this fall hike is worth it. The trees around the falls explode with color - be sure to take a lot of photos!
