As you visit the historic district, you'll want to stop at the Alderson Train Depot, which was added to the historic registry in 1993. Originally built in 1896 by the C&O Railway, the original wood framed building was expanded in 1929. In 1979, the station began serving Amtrak until 2014 when it became a request stop.
Since 2010, Sunset Berry Farm & Produce has been known as the home of the "sweetest strawberries.” In late spring, spend an hour or two exploring and picking your own succulent treats. If you are up for a little celebration, be sure to visit Memorial Day weekend for the annual Strawberry Festival.
