The Ultimate Pie Shop Road Trip In Utah Is As Charming As It Is Sweet
Explore Utah's best pie shops on a delightful road trip.
There is nothing like a good road trip to help you explore all that the Beehive State has to offer, and when you combine that road trip with delicious pie, it is impossible to beat! We have created the ultimate pie shop road trip in Utah that will take you to some of the best pie shops, bakeries, and restaurants around the state with mouth-watering pie. This is one trip that truly is sweet!
Our road trip will begin in St. George and ends in Salt Lake City (or vice versa). Plan to drive approximately 435 miles and at least 7.5 hours to visit all of the pie shops on our itinerary.
1. Croshaw’s Gourmet Pies, St. George
The first stop on our road trip is at Croshaw’s Gourmet Pies in St. George. Here, all of the pies are freshly baked each day and you will find more than 34 flavors of pie on the menu. If you love traditional flavors like apple and chocolate, the options are plentiful, but you can also try something new like German Chocolate, cream cheese, or blackbottom pie. Croshaw’s also offers sugar-free pies.
2. Veyo Pies and Bakery, Veyo
Veyo Pies and Bakery is a small-town bakery that serves some of the very best pies in Utah. This delightful business has been making pies for more than 30 years and truly has the pie-making process down to perfection. This is another pie shop in Utah with an extensive menu that includes fruit, cream, specialty, and lunch pies. If you love an apple pie, make sure you grab a slice here — this is Veyo Pie’s number one fruit pie.
3. Sunglow Restaurant, Bicknell
Just outside Capitol Reef National Park is the next stop on our road trip — Sunglow Restaurant. This restaurant is located in the small town of Bicknell, where there are approximately 300 residents. However, the stop is worth it, particularly if you try a slice of their pickle pie or pinto bean pie. These unique pie flavors draw quite a crowd and you never know ... you may just find your new favorite type of pie.
4. Lehi Bakery, Lehi
The Lehi Bakery has been serving some of the best baked goods in Utah County since 1969. While there are all sorts of delicious treats you can purchase at this shop like donuts, breads, and cinnamon rolls, the pies are some of our favorites. Lehi Bakery serves fruit, cream, and seasonal pies and all pies are made to order so it may be wise to call in your order to ensure you can enjoy a slice of this flaky goodness.
5. Flake Pie Co., South Jordan
Flake Pie Co. is a small bakery in South Jordan that specializes in personal pies. All of the pies served here can fit in the palm of your hand, meaning you can enjoy an entire pie by yourself. You’ll find quite a variety of pies on the menu and each has a fun and unique name. There are sweet and savory pie options, so you can easily find something to satisfy your every pie craving.
6. The Dodo Restaurant, Sugar House
While technically a restaurant, we couldn’t leave the Dodo Restaurant off of this pie shop road trip as it is known for serving some of the best pies in the entire state. While there are several different options available, you must try the Toll House Pie. This flaky dessert is a combination of a warm chocolate chip cookie and pie — it’s incredible!
