Having grown up in a small town in southern Utah, I have developed a love for the tiny towns that dot the state and the hidden gem restaurants that are tucked away inside them. That’s why I am excited about today’s adventure to Slackers Burger Joint. Located in the small town of Torrey, this burger joint puts many others around the state to shame. The burgers are big, juicy, and delicious, and they are just one of the many reasons you’ll want to stop by.

Torrey, Utah is one of the most overlooked small towns in Utah. Known as the Gateway to Capitol Reef National Park, this town is just a few miles away from the park's entrance. It is quiet, rural, historic, and beautiful. It’s definitely a small town that’s perfect for a getaway.

While visiting Torrey, you’ll want to spend some time at Slackers Burger Joint, a popular place to eat in this small Utah town and when you visit, you’ll quickly see why.

Slackers Burger Joint is a 1950s-style restaurant that offers an assortment of menu items ranging from chicken baskets to delicious sandwiches.

However, the burgers are what this restaurant is best known for among locals and tourists alike. Here, you will find a variety of burger options including a bacon cheeseburger and a mushroom bacon Swiss burger.

Although it doesn’t matter what burger option you choose, you can expect a massive burger with toppings piled high.

Of course, you'll want to pair your burger with a side of fries …

… and a large milkshake. It's pretty easy to create the perfect meal here.

Keep in mind that the food is made to order, so while considered a fast food restaurant, if busy, you may be waiting some time for your food. The wait is worth it though.

Slackers Burger Joint is a seasonal restaurant that closes each winter. You’ll want to visit multiple times when open to help you get through its seasonal closures — you’ll be craving the burgers from this restaurant all winter long.
