Essential items and tips for moving to or visiting Texas.
Whether you want to move to the Lone Star State (who wouldn't??) or just plan on visiting over the summer, there are a few necessary survival items and tips I should probably fill you in on before you come.
1) Suncreen. Lots and lotsss of suncreen.
2) A hearty appetite. Trust me, everything is definitely bigger in Texas, including our food.
3) A motor vehicle of some sort.
We have over 70,000 miles of highways here. A car or truck is absolutely necessary, unless you just really, really enjoy walking.
4) Good air conditioning. Because we essentially live on the sun in the summer.
5) An absolute infatuation with football, and a good TV to watch it on.
6) A love of nature and a sense of adventure.
Texas is an overwhelmingly beautiful state to travel in, so bring some hiking boots, sunscreen, and your inner explorer!
7) Water, in some way, shape or form, and lots of it.
8) A friendly attitude. We are the friendship state, and we definitely live up to our name.
9) A map, or at least GPS. I'm not exaggerating when I say our state is HUGE.
10) Bug spray. Just trust me on this one.
11) A sense of humor
You will see and hear some funny and bizarre things in Texas..just get used to it.
12) Respect and appreciation for our amazing state.
We don't take well to people who diss our state, so do us a favor and don't mess with Texas, please.
