We may never get the chance to see all seven wonders of the world, but that doesn't mean we're completely missing out. After all, there are seven Rhode Island wonders that we can visit on a fairly short road trip. Little Rhody, after all, isn't that big. So fill up your gas tank and grab some snacks for the road. This road trip to the seven wonders of Rhode Island is sure to take your breath away.

1. Sakonnet Point, Little Compton
Sakonnet Point feels like the end of the earth. Its quiet setting along the Atlantic offers a beautiful and peaceful retreat. Gorgeous views are unlimited but some of the best come at dawn and dusk. 2. Purgatory Chasm
Glaciers formed Purgatory Chasm thousands of years ago and seawater has been eroding this crack in the cliffs ever since. This slice in the rocks is 120 feet long, 10 feet wide at the top, and more than 150 feet deep. Each year the gap continues to widen making this natural wonder even more incredible. 3. Beavertail State Park
This Rhode Island state park on the coast of Jamestown is a natural oasis. The coastal landscape is one of a kind at this spot. Explore tidal pools to reconnect with ocean creatures of all kinds. Spanning 153 acres, the state park offers a full menu of activities and amenities, including hiking, sightseeing, and saltwater fishing. 4. Mohegan Bluffs, Block Island
Climb a step flight of 140 more than stairs to reach this geological wonder on Block Island. Although a bit of work, the trip is well worth the end payoff. The clay cliffs tower above the beach and are certainly impressive. Linger awhile and enjoy panoramic views of the ocean surrounding this island. 5. Ninigret National Wildlife Refuge, Charlestown
This shoreline gem is a mixture of sandy shores, wetlands, and uplands. Bordering one of the most stunning salt ponds in the state, this refuge has a little bit of everything. More than 50 species of birds call this park their home. The Rhode Island refuge features more than five miles of hiking trails, making it easy to get out and explore. 6. Napatree Point, Westerly
This long sandy spit was formed over time by long shore drift. Protruding out into the ocean, walk to the end and experience unlimited water views. This long stretch of beach is pristine and a perfect spot for a solitary stroll. Be sure to meander along the sandy shore on this scenic trail in Westerly, Rhode Island, too.
7. Stepstone Falls, West Greenwich
This series of waterfalls may not be big, but they are distinctly beautiful. Visit the Arcadia Management Area to find them. The falls drop over a series of short rocky ledges for approximately 100 feet. Each step aids in building this sweet little natural wonder. You can view it along the picturesque Ben Utter Trail.
