These 10 Mind-Blowing Sceneries Totally Define Pennsylvania

Pennsylvania is a gorgeous state; anyone who's spent more than five minutes here could tell you that with utmost authority. There are certain landscapes that are most iconic of our home state. Here are the ones that spring to mind first for me.

1. This gorgeous farm landscape in Mount Pleasant Township.

Pennsylvania has an expansive rural region dominated by farmlands. Rustic barns and cornfields are one of the most iconic features of Pennsylvania.

2. The Niagara Falls of Pennsylvania.

Bushkill Falls is one of the most impressive natural wonders in Pennsylvania, though there are numerous waterfalls in the state.

3. The Pennsylvania Grand Canyon.

How can you talk about Pennsylvania's version of Niagara Falls without mentioning the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon? Also known as Pine Greek Gorge, this is one of the most dramatic vistas in a state full of amazing views.

4. The Philadelphia Cityscape.

Philadelphia is responsible for plenty of vital United States history, and as you can imagine is a huge part of Pennsylvania culture. The biggest city in the state, it is both a huge tourist destination and the home of over 12 million Pennsylvanians.

5. The peaceful Spruce Run stream in Delaware State Forest.

Pennsylvania is home to miles upon miles of woodlands, with all the Bambis and Snow Whites who live there. Serene views like this one can be found all over the state.

6. Gettysburg Battlefield.

The bloodiest battle of the Civil War occurred at Gettysburg, which now is a major part of Pennsylvania history and tourism. It is also known as one of the most haunted places in the country.

7. The Susquehanna River, one of the longest rivers in the state.

In this photograph you can also see the French Azilum Historic Site, where French refugees took shelter during the French Revolution.

8. Point Park in Pittsburgh.

Pittsburgh, the second biggest city in Pennsylvania, certainly has a recognizable and photogenic downtown. This view, taken from the Duquesne Incline, is the most iconic in the city.

9. Lake Erie as seek from Presque Isle State Park.

Lake Erie is, without a doubt, Pennsylvania's largest body of water and home to numerous legends and rich history. Erie has thirteen beaches along the lake.

10. The dramatic view from Golden Eagle Trail in Lycoming County.
