Historic Hanna's Town near Pittsburgh offers a hands-on experience of frontier life with reconstructed buildings and original log homes.

We can see, touch, and even smell small pieces of the past. Pittsburgh's rich history has given us plenty of unforgettable, historic attractions. Like Historic Hanna's Town. A trip to this historic village near Pittsburgh, will allow you to experience frontier life for yourself.

Historic Hanna's Town earned is moniker from founder Robert Hanna in 1773. The town became the first seat in Westmoreland County.

On July 13, 1782, during the Revolutionary War, the Indians and British attacked Hanna's Town, essentially burning it to the ground.

Farmers took over the land in the 1800s, which helped preserved the remnants of the town.

Today, the historic attraction consists of Hanna's Tavern and Courthouse and a fort from the era. Each was reconstructed to match the originals.

Three original log homes from the era were also moved to Historic Hanna's Town when it opened in 1973.

Embark on a guided tour of the historic town or explore via one of the trails. Historic Hanna's Town also hosts a variety of events, such as Civil War reenactments, throughout the year.

Pick up souvenirs from the museum's gift shop after you've explored the historic town. The shop is generally open during regular attraction hours.

Plan your visit to Historic Hanna's Town, which reopens for the season in May. May, September, and October hours run Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

June, July, and August's hours are Wednesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
