The storybook state forest's two scenic vistas provide unspoiled views from high above the forest floor. Climb atop the historic fire tower, 80 feet high, for sweeping views of the forest up to 20 miles away.

Or, drink in stunning views of the Clarion River Valley from the Seneca Point Overlook.

Wear your sturdiest hiking boots to explore deep within the forest. The forest near Pittsburgh offers nearly 50 miles of picturesque trails.

One of the forest's easiest trails, the Liggett Trail, spans a mile and a half through lush hemlocks and wetland.

Some trails even permit biking and horseback riding. After your hike, bike, or ride, sit along the Clarion River for a picnic or relax at one of the many picnic tables dotted throughout the park. (Charcoal grills are also available.)

Winter provides the perfect backdrop for a visit to this magical forest. Explore the snow-covered park on cross country skis.
