Just under two hours from downtown Pittsburgh in Erie, the enchanting 205-acre Asbury Woods Nature Center welcomes visitors all year around.

Journey along the Greenway Trail to begin your exploration of the nature center's grounds. Keep an eye out for local wildlife, including deer, frogs, and turkeys.

The Boardwalk Trail travels along a picturesque wooden boardwalk, winding through "mature" woods, and to a wetland where you can view dragonflies, ducks, and turtles. Stop for a breather at the charming gazebo.

Visitors are welcome to explore the nature trails during the day only. Remain on the marked paths to avoid damaging plants and animals that call the nature center's grounds home.

Bring the kids to play at the Little Woods Play Area. The play area provides plenty for kids to do, including crawling through tunnels, crossing logs, and digging in a dirt area.

Go indoors at the sprawling Nature Center that spans 7,800 square feet and boasts a nearly 5,000 square foot green roof with planted vegetation.

The indoor area features plenty to do, including exhibits, a Discovery Room, classrooms, and a cozy fireplace in a historic cottage.

The nature center transforms into a Winter Wonderland this December. Marvel at the Christmas lights displays as you stroll along a hiking path. Toast s'mores over an open fire. And, watch the kids make crafts at this annual holiday event.

Asbury Woods Nature Center welcomes visitors all year around. Hours for September through May are Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
