If you're looking to have a relaxing, quiet weekend getaway, this historic town is the perfect place to visit.

Home to approximately 21,000 people, this small city preserves much of its Old World charm and heritage.

The Shakers were one of the city's earliest influencers and traces of their heritage can still be found in the city. By 1802, the city was surveyed and mapped out.

Sine 1803, this historic hotel and restaurant has been serving guests exceptional food with unique lodging options. It is one of America's most historical inns and Ohio's oldest continually operated business. It's located at 27 S Broadway St., Lebanon, OH 45036.

Because of its location, halfway between Cincinnati and the National Road (which is now U.S. Route 40), this gorgeous inn and restaurant has seen its fair share of historical figures throughout the years—which makes it such a special place to visit today.

Over the years, 12 U.S. Presidents have visited the inn, as well as several notable authors such as Charles Dickens, Harriet Beecher Stowe and Mark Twain. Each guest room is named after a famous guest who stayed at the inn or dined in the restaurant. Pictured above is the entrance to the Charles Dickens Room.

The Golden Lamb is located in the heart of downtown Lebanon, which is lined with several gift shops, antique stores, and local eateries.

The Harmon Museum and Art Gallery is housed in Harmon Hall, pictured below. It features artwork and historic collections from prehistoric eras to the mid-20th century.

General admission is $10 for adults and $6 for students ages 5 - 18. You'll find it at 105 S. Broadway, Lebanon, OH 45036.

Take a break from your downtown adventures for some delicious ice cream and nostalgic charm at the historic Village Ice Cream Parlor.

You can even ride the Lebanon Mason and Monroe Railroad. Trains depart in downtown Lebanon and feature scenic rides through southwestern Ohio in Warren County.

The train runs on most weekends throughout the year and on select weekdays. You can also take several seasonal and holiday train rides.
