As you drive around the state of New York, you'll find that there are so many beautiful scenic byways and stunning back roads that are great for traveling along. While sometimes we may just be in need of hitting the open road until we find ourselves back home again, sometimes we like to enjoy a long drive simply to see what we can discover along the way. Easily convincing you to pull over with just one glance, see why it's impossible to drive along Route 20 in Central New York without pulling over to see this one roadside attraction. And for a bonus, it is located in what some people call the best small town in New York! Come along as we show you what's so great about it:
Sticking out like the best sore thumb that you've ever encountered, right along Route 20 you can find one of New York's most charming roadside attractions - The Tepee.
Right in Otsego County, The Tepee is a souvenir gift shop unlike any other here in the Empire State.
Up and running since 1950, while many New Yorkers are only just stumbling upon this roadside gem of Cherry Valley, others have been visiting The Tepee with their family for generations!
Open all throughout the year, the souvenir shop is best known for specializing in keeping Native American-made items in stock.
A shop where there's something for everyone, you'll find everything from blankets and special Tepee merchandise to stuffed animals and food.
During the warmer months, when you're done exploring all that's inside of The Tepee, you can head back outside to check out Tepee Pete's Chow Wagon!
Yet another reason to pull over while travling along Route 20, you'll frequently hear people raving out Pete's chili, along with other favorite items on the menu.
Did you know such a quirky little attraction existed right along the roadside?
