Fall weather is kicking in, and it won't be long before the leaves begin to change with it. When it comes to enjoying that array of natural color, there's no better place to be than New York. We took a look at some of our favorite parks, byways and preserves in the state. These areas take on a whole new level of beauty this time of year.

1. Letchworth State Park

Letchworth State Park, one of the prettiest state parks in New York, is a gorgeous sight in the fall. Watching the leaves change is even more glorious when there's a waterfall nearby.

2. Mohawk Towpath Scenic Byway

Just north of Albany, the Mohawk Towpath Scenic Byway, which runs along the Mohawk River, is the perfect road to cruise down if you're looking to get in the fall mood. It extends 26.2 miles, from downtown Schenectady to Waterford.

3. Clarence Fahnestock State Park

Over 14,000 acres of natural beauty make this park a must-see, especially come fall. It's also got some of the best hiking trails, campgrounds and fishing in the region.
