Here in New York our residents stay interested in haunted and abandoned locations no matter what time of year it is. We've previously shared with you how there's an overwhelming amount of evidence that would lead us to believe that one Western New York location is our most haunted city. But there's also a small area of the Empire State that has quite a few haunted locations, some of which are within walking distance of each other! Beautiful and equipped with an interesting past, Saratoga Springs has a history when it comes to hauntings and paranormal activity.

Make the trip to this area of Upstate New York and you can first test your bravery by exploring Yaddo Gardens.

Right off of Union Avenue in Saratoga Springs not far from the Race Course is a gorgeous garden that's also known for hosting their ghostly tours each year. The garden is open to the public all year round and offers tours, but during the fall months they offer ghost tours on Fridays and Sundays. Within the gardens you'll find beautiful yet eerie statues that are said to often give off an uncomfortable presence and have people wondering what exactly is here at Yaddo.

Take a quick drive down the street from the gardens and you'll discover the historic Batcheller Mansion.

Now operating as an incredible bed and breakfast, the inn is considered by many to be the crown jewel of Saratoga. A Victorian home that's straight out of a page from the past, the Batcheller Mansion has even served as a filming location for the 2009 horror movie The Skeptic. Local stories go, that both guests of the inn and those who have worked here reportedly have seen a ghost wandering the halls. Most people who have encountered the spirit that haunts the mansion believe the ghost to be that of George Batcheller, the original owner of the home in the 1800s. In recent years, the inn has allowed people to investigate the mansion as long as they're staying overnight and have made an appointment.

Walk right down the street to Congress Park and you'll find the spooky and unsuspectingly haunting Canfield Casino.

With an area that's filled with so much history, it's not hard to see how there could be numerous haunted locations here. The Canfield Casino has raised enough eyebrows over the years that even Syfy's very own Ghost Hunters came to investigate the place back in 2010. According to those who have witnessed unusual activity here for themselves, they claim that they've seen a woman in a Victorian gown walking throughout the halls of the building. The historic location now partially serves as a museum, featuring antique clothing that many believe brought spirits into the building.

Aside from visitors actually seeing ghostly figures, some have had more frightening experiences that have been left unexplainable. Stories over the past ten years involve guests randomly smelling cigar smoke, seeing objects move on their own and one woman even reportedly had a glass slapped out of her hand.

Bonus: Right outside of town in Saratoga County is a haunted hike that you won't want to miss out on.

A quick 15-minute drive from Yaddo, those who want to take advantage of all the spooky locations that this area has to offer can't leave town without checking out Saratoga National Historical Park. In the small town of Stillwater, the historical park is known to many as being home to strange, hair-raising activity. Many who take the time to explore areas like the Wilkinson Trail have claimed have experienced strange activity and the possible presence of soldiers that have passed on.
