If there's one thing we know as New York residents, it's that there's no better place to be in the summer than the Finger Lakes. Once named the "Coolest Small Town in America" by Budget Travel, the small town of Hammondsport on Keuka Lake is the perfect place to visit.

If you aren't familiar with the Finger Lakes Region, Keuka Lake is the lake that people describe as resembling a Y or Wishbone shape. Found out between Seneca and Canandaigua Lakes, this remote area is filled with nothing but scenic views and small town charm. The small area was founded back in 1827 and now has a population of under one thousand residents.

While you may only be making a day trip out of this, it never hurts to know of good places to stay!

As if the wine tasting wasn't fantastic enough, this winery is fully equipped with one savory restaurant! With stunning views of the lake while you dine, you'll quickly fall head over heels for this place. Another plus? If you check out Bully Hilly Vineyards Facebook Page, you'll see that they're keeping up with the times and have become a Poké Stop. That's right! If you're into the latest Pokémon GO craze, you can not only wine and dine but also catch Pokémon too.

Enjoy a picnic down by the water at the local spacious park!

There's no denying that in the small town of Hammondsport you'll find a ton of mouth-watering places to grab a bite to eat. With a swimming area, plenty of picnic tables and a dock to explore, you won't mind packing your own lunch to enjoy some time by the water. The park is a great place to bring the family and everyone of all ages, you'll love the views of the lake from here!

Another main feature of the town that draws in visitors? The Glenn H. Curtiss Museum!

One of New York's museums that everyone should cross off of their bucket list, this exciting museum features history on vintage aircraft and the pioneer of aviator himself, Glenn Curtiss!
