Buffalo Was Just Named One Of The Best Places To Go In 2018 And We Couldn’t Agree More

We've done it again! Buffalo has been added to yet another list of accolades, this time coming from The New York Times! We're joining the ranks of some seriously impressive places. And while it might seem unexpected for the Queen City to be named as one of the best places to go in 2018 in the entire world, we couldn't agree more.

The New York Times recently listed Buffalo as number 37 on their Top 52 Places To Go In 2018.

The 716 joins the ranks of incredible international locations, such as Lithuania, Tasmania, Prague, and more!

So... why Buffalo? Honestly, we were wondering too.

The main reason for including Buffalo in this impressive list is because of our city's recent revitalization.

The article notes the renovations of landmark buildings to become modern, upscale hotels.

They even mention Hotel Henry and the Curtiss Hotel by name!

Canalside was also noted in the article as one of the main reasons to visit the Queen City.

We can't argue here! Canalside has totally transformed our waterfront. But that's not all; it has become a hub of sorts for Buffalonians and out of towners alike to experience more of what Buffalo has to offer in terms of entertainment.

Our brewpubs got a nod, too!

We see and hear you, NYT! Buffalo's craft brewery scene is really taking off, and we couldn't agree more that everyone should pay a visit to them. Some local varieties of craft beer, we may argue, are totally worth traveling around the world for. (Looking at you, Sponge Candy Stout!)

And don't forget about our city's up and coming works in progress.

It looks like we aren't the only ones excitedly awaiting the opening of the new Children's Museum downtown! This is one of the projects the destination list mentioned as an exciting reason to visit the 716.

Last, but certainly not least, it wouldn't be a Buffalo feature without mentioning our architecture.

Buffalo is one of the most world-renowned architectural cities. It would be a shame not to celebrate the significance of our buildings, and New York Times delivered! They noted the restorations of two Buffalonian Frank Lloyd Wright homes that are slated to be complete in 2018.

Do you think Buffalo is worthy of this most recent praise? We certainly do! Are there any other reasons you would recommend a visit to our great city? (We could easily name about 1,000 more!) Drop a note in the comments below to share your thoughts and suggestions!
