Are you looking for New Jersey day trip inspiration? Look no further than this cute little town named after one of its best natural features and visit Little Falls!
The charming community of Little Falls, New Jersey, is perhaps best known for being a stand-up comedy hot spot in the 1930s when Jackie Gleason performed here regularly. Nowadays, it's a cozy suburb that's known for its scenery and small-town charm.
The town itself is named after a spillway waterfall on the Morris Canal that was part of the Beattie Mill.
Today, the "little falls" can be found behind "The Mill", an apartment complex that pays tribute to the town's industrial history.
Little Falls is the perfect North Jersey town for a day trip. Not only can you walk the historic streets, shop, and dine, but you can take time to explore the scenic Peckman Preserve.
With 12 acres of preserved green space, this little park on the Morris Canal is a great spot to get some fresh air.
By the time you've walked around town, you'll work up an appetite! A Taco Affair is the best spot in town for a delicious lunch.
You'll find a gourmet take on traditional tacos offered here, and it's worth the drive alone just for a platter.
Visit the Taco Affair website for more information.
Downtown Little Falls offers plenty of places to walk around and shop, but one must-try is the Mo & Jay Pastry Shop.
Head pastry chef Jaleesa Mason was the winner of the Food Network Spring Baking Championship, and you'll quickly realize that her award was well deserved!
See what's currently on the menu at Mo & Jay's Pastry and be sure to stop in!
