The Small Nebraska Town Of Beatrice Is Home To The Black Crow, An Award-Winning Restaurant

Although it is charming, the little city of Beatrice isn't known by many outside of Nebraska. But it does happen to have a renowned fine-dining restaurant that's just as fantastic as any big city eatery. And if you've ever enjoyed a meal at The Black Crow, you know how special it is.

Located at 405 Court Street, The Black Crow has been a local favorite for over 20 years.

It's owned by Ray Arter and his wife, Kate Ratigan, who met in Vail, Colorado. Kate is originally from Omaha, and when the couple heard about an old biker bar for sale in Beatrice, they moved to Nebraska to open their own eatery.

Ray graduated from Philadelphia culinary school, working as a baker and chef in New York and Vail before bringing his culinary talents to Nebraska.

The menu consists of steak, seafood, pizza, and delicious pasta dishes.

The dining room is classy but casual.

This is definitely a fine dining experience, but it's also unpretentious.

Since its opening, The Black Crow has received attention from both local and regional publications.

Midwest Living Magazine and the St. Louis Magazine have both praised its extensive wine list, which includes around 100 options.

In addition to their dining service from 5:30 p.m. until 10, The Black Crow serves lunch from 11:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

Enjoy some homemade soup, a fresh salad, or a hearty sandwich.

In the summer of 2018, Ray and Kate opened a new outdoor seating area.

It has the capacity to host 230 people, so there might be some pretty amazing parties here this summer.

The Black Crow is open Tuesday through Saturday for lunch and dinner.
