There’s A Wildlife Park In Missouri That’s Perfect For A Family Day Trip
The World Bird Sanctuary offers a family-friendly experience to learn about and support endangered birds through educational shows and rehabilitation programs.
Looking for a unique wildlife park that not only supports endangered animals but is fun for the whole family too? Look no further than the World Bird Sanctuary. This amazing institution is the perfect place to learn about beautiful birds and get up-close with some of the most impressive birds of prey. The World Bird Sanctuary was created in 1977 to secure the future of threatened bird species in their natural environments. In 2000, they opened their 105 acre nature park.
To achieve their mission, they work to educated the public about wild birds. They offer free shows that display the prowess of predatory birds.
The World Bird Sanctuary also provides care for injured birds. Birds that find their way to the sanctuary are cared for until they are rehabilitated and released.
You'll find all kinds of birds at the sanctuary. Some birds will never be able to care for themselves, these non-releasable animals now live in large, comfortable enclosures at the park.
Inside, tropical birds like Parrots and Macaws like to squawk for attention and treats! Many of the birds at the World Bird Sanctuary travel to zoo's across the nation to help educate Americans about conservation and the importance of the magnificent birds.
Majestic Eagles, wise Owls, and stealthy Hawks all reside at the World Bird Sanctuary. Most of these gorgeous animals are trained and participate in educations shows at the sanctuary. These "spokes-birds" are critical in helping the public understand and appreciate these important birds.
There are other kids of animals at the sanctuary too. Most of the snakes can be found inside, staying warm in their enclosures.
Although these little guys also have wings, they're not birds! Batty and Scar came to the sanctuary from the Milwaukee County Zoo. They were very under-socialized but now you can find them happily clinging to their trainers.
Learning is fun and hands on at the World Bird Sanctuary! Your kids will love meeting the trainers and their animals.
After spending the day learning about these beautiful birds, let you kids release some energy at the playground or on the hiking trails.
