We’re pretty spoiled here in Missouri, especially having four absolutely gorgeous seasons. Regardless of my personal favorite, we can all likely agree that fall promises so many breathtaking moments as we drink in the sheer splendor of the foliage. As the days grow shorter and cooler, fall is also an ideal time to visit the charming small town of Warsaw. I think it is one of the best fall day trips in Missouri. Follow along and I'll show you exactly why:
A delightful destination any time of the year...
... the darling town of Warsaw promises plenty to do during autumn, whether you feel like leaf-peeping or going to a fall festival.
Leaf peeping is probably the most popular activity of the fall...
.., and you’ll have plenty of opportunities to admire the gorgeous landscape in Warsaw, which is home to numerous parks.
However, for an idyllic autumn adventure, spend a few hours at Harry S. Truman State Park.
The 1,440-acre Missouri state park features several hiking trails that boast stunning views of the fall foliage.
Follow the Bluff Ridge Trail, a short and sweet hike.
It clocks in at 1.9 miles, to drink in awe-inspiring views of Truman Lake and the fall foliage.
Continue your adventure with a stroll around Drake Harbor, just a short walk from Main Street in Downtown Warsaw.
Stop by after exploring the shops or grabbing a bite to eat in the darling downtown.
Autumn also means the return of the annual Pioneer Heritage Days.
The two-day festival, generally held in mid-October, celebrates Warsaw’s history by traveling back to the 1800s with demonstrations, good eats, family-friendly activities, and more.
