The Epic Rest Stop In Mississippi That’s Actually Worth Pulling Over For

Mississippi is famous for its hospitality, so it should be no surprise that many of the rest stops in our state are actually Welcome Centers. These beautiful places are definitely worth pulling over for. Here's one in Pearlington that also has an excellent museum right next door.

The Hancock County Welcome Center is located just off I-10, where it intersects with Highway 607 in Pearlington.

At 7,000 square feet, this is the largest of Mississippi's Welcome Centers. It's a beautiful antebellum building.

You'll find plenty of information here, along with pamphlets that tell you about attractions in the area, and throughout Mississippi.

This beautiful quilt was made by school children after Hurricane Katrina.

Furnishings in this cozy center include antiques from the antebellum period.

Make yourself right at home!

The beautiful grounds include picnic tables and grills, an RV dumping station, and 24-hour security.

The nice folks inside can help you with questions and can even assist you in finding nearby lodging.

The rest area is available to travelers 24/7; the Welcome Center is open from 8 AM to 5 PM, seven days a week.

Before you get back on the highway, stop to check out the Infinity Science Center. It's just down the road, and full of interesting displays, space equipment and memorabilia.

The address for the Infinity Science Center is 1 Discovery Circle. Open Monday through Saturday from 9 AM to 4 PM.
