Visit This Park In Mississippi That’s Home To Well-Hidden Secret, A Tree Top Trail

Chautauqua Park in Crystal Springs is a hidden gem featuring an elevated boardwalk trail through a forest, offering scenic views and wildlife sightings.

If you’re looking for a park with some perks, look no further than Chautauqua Park! You may not have heard of it because of its small town locale; however, it’s a hidden gem worth seeking out. Not only does it boast idyllic beauty, but it’s home to an elevated trail that offers an outing like no other. Take a look:

A tiny town of about 5,000, Crystal Springs is touted as a “Tomatopolis” and the “Tomato Capital of the World.”

However, there’s more to the tiny town than tomatoes. It’s also where you’ll find Chautauqua Park.

At 74 acres, it’s not the state’s biggest park, but it sure is brimming with perks, especially in the way of natural beauty.

In addition to a 35-acre lake, there are rolling hills, flowing springs, and a garden.

Bridges, gazebos, and benches are also common sights within the park.

Luckily, there are several trails that wind through the park, making it easy to explore. Near the park’s entrance, there’s a huge white arch, which marks the beginning of one of the park’s most popular treks, the Trail of Tranquility.

The highlight of the park, though, is the Tree Top Trail.

As amazing as it sounds, the trail is comprised of a 1,500-foot handicap accessible, elevated boardwalk.

Aptly named, the boardwalk winds through a forest of trees, offering a “squirrel’s eye view of life in the woods.”

Possible wildlife sightings and scenic surroundings aren’t all the trail has to offer, though.

About two dozen markers line the trail, providing information on native trees and bushes.
