Looking for the perfect way to spend a day with the fam? Well, you’re in luck! We’ve mapped out the perfect family-friendly road trip through Mississippi. Along the way, you’ll find whimsical attractions, themed restaurants, and more.
Spanning from one end of the state to the other, the 544-mile route we’ve mapped out will take about nine hours to complete.

1. Jet-A-Way Café (Kiln)
Kick off your road trip with a hearty breakfast at Jet-A-Way Café. Overlooking an airfield and outfitted with plenty of windows, diners are treated to close-up views of arriving and departing planes, making for an unforgettable meal. For more info, click here.
2. Lynn Meadows Discovery Center (Gulfport)
Next stop, hands-on fun at the Lynn Meadows Discovery Center! The renowned children’s museum boasts 15,000 square feet of indoor exhibit space – and that’s in addition to 7.5 acres of outdoor play space and a roomy theater. For more info, click here.
3. LeFleur’s Bluff Education and Tourism Complex (Jackson)
There’s a lot to see and do at Jackson’s LeFleur’s Bluff Education and Tourism Complex, which is a shared campus between the Mississippi Museum of Natural Science and the Mississippi Children’s Museum. In December 2021, the complex was expanded to include LeFleur’s Bluff Playground, a 30,000-square-foot play area with 80 activities. For more info, click here.
4. Brent’s Drugs (Jackson)
Your whimsical fun doesn’t have to come to an end when it’s time to for lunch. At Brent’s Drugs, a retro drug store and soda fountain, you can enjoy a great meal, all while having a great time. 5. Mississippi Industrial Heritage Museum (Meridian)
Both fun and educational, the Mississippi Industrial Heritage Museum celebrates the American Industrial Revolution with an array of artifacts and interpretive exhibits. The museum also hosts a variety of events and special exhibits throughout the year. For more info, click here.
6. Starkvegas Snowballs (Starkville)
Sweeten up your road trip with a visit to Starkvegas Snowballs. The seasonal stand, which opened in 2015, serves New Orleans-style snowballs that come stuffed and topped with treats of all sorts. For more info, click here.
7. Mid-South Ice House (Olive Branch)
Finish up your road trip by skating some figure eights at Mid-South Ice House! The year-round ice rink is home to the only NHL regulation ice skating arena in the Greater Memphis Metropolitan Area.
