The Magical Polar Express Train Ride In Minneapolis Everyone Should Experience At Least Once

The Holly Trolley in Minneapolis offers a festive and historic holiday experience with decorated streetcars and visits from Santa.

During the holiday season, there isn't anything more fun than bundling up and heading out for an evening of festive fun. Whether you're standing around a fire drinking hot cocoa or driving through dark neighborhoods admiring lights, these traditions help put us in the spirit of the season. Here in Minneapolis, there's an unusual - but extremely festive - event that will fill you with holiday spirit like nothing else. The Holly Trolley is an affordable, fun way to get out and enjoy all that the season has to offer.

The Holly Trolley is run by the Minnesota Streetcar Museum in Minneapolis.

The cars on the museum's Como-Harriet streetcar line date back to the early 20th century.

For the Holly Trolley, they are decorated with festive wreaths and bows.

The holiday cheer continues on the inside, too. The historic charm mixes with classic Christmas touches to create a truly magical experience.

Even more wonderful: each magical train ride comes with a visit from Santa.

Things get even more magical during the Vinternatt ride, when strings of lights add even more whimsy to this festive trolley.

The Vinternatt route is also lined with lights, making for an enchanting evening.

At the end of your ride on both the Holley Trolley and Vinternatt, you can warm up and roast a marshmallow over a fire.

Holly Trolley takes place on November 25 and 26, as well as December 2 and 3. Rides last about 20 minutes and go from 12:30 to 3:30. They cost $4, and no advance reservations are required.

Vinternatt, on the other hand, only lasts one night. Visit on December 2 between 6:00 and 8:00. These rides cost $5.

This magical polar express train ride is not to be missed. If you have 20 minutes to spare for the next few weekends, you won't regret checking it out. If you've already been there in past years, what did you think? Leave your comments down below!
