Take The Whole Family On A Day Trip To This Pick-Your-Own Strawberry Farm In Maine

We've had a few false starts, but spring really might be right around the corner now! While we're happy to spend a few warm weeks reveling in this warmer weather what we're really ready for is summer! Trips upta camp, sleeping under the stars and berries that are fresh-as-can-be! While you can grab them at farmers' market throughout the state, we recommend heading out on a fun day for the whole family by going to this farm to pick some yourself.

Stevenson's Strawberry in Wayne is one of our favorite places to enjoy summer in Maine.

It all started in the 1970s when Ford and Susan Stevenson began growing strawberries to create their own pick-your-own strawberry business.

Eventually their son, Tom, came to help out on the farm and in 2015 he took over the strawberry side of their burgeoning farm.

Today, Tom and his wife Ashley run operations with vital help from their three kids Hadley, Hannah and Ford.

In 2008, they expanded to create Stevenson Farm Stand in Winthrop.

But our favorite thing is still the pick-your-own strawberry farm!

There are 16 incredible acres of strawberries to explore here, which means there's plenty of room for kids to feel independent while still being within sight of the grown-ups.

While there are plenty of berries here, it's always so much fun to peek beneath the plants to find a secret stash of bright red berries ripe for the picking.

And, no matter how many people are here there always seems to be enough to take home far more than you could ever use!

Picking your own strawberries is also economical. They're just $2..00 per pound.

And you'll walk away with so many you'll be creating your own strawberry desserts all summer long.
