Everyone From Maine Should Take These 7 Awesome Vacations

The beautiful state of Maine isn't called Vacationland for no reason. While we might be a tad biased, it's absolutely true that being here feels like a break from the rest of the world. That explains why tourists flock here throughout the year and why a record number of people are moving here. If you already live here, lucky you! Now you just need to make sure you're enjoying every ounce of the state. Start by heading out on these fun vacations.

1. The Maine Lighthouse Road Trip

2. Freeport, Cumberland County

If you love shopping you'll love Freeport! This small Maine town is one of the most picturesque places to shop and there are plenty of places to do it. Take in the shopping, then enjoy a meal at a local Tavern before heading back to your bed and breakfast for a good night's sleep. The next day, head out for a hike. This is also a great place to enjoy the outdoors.

3. Damariscotta Pumpkinfest

Back in 2021 after a year off, this fall event is one of the most anticipated celebrations of the year. From pumpkin decorating competitions to the regatta, this is one very uniquely Maine event!

4. Road trip from Bath to Georgetown on Route 127.

Who says a vacation has to be spent by the pool? This one simply involves the car and some of the most beautiful scenery in the state. You'll make your way through Sagadahoc County, past Doubling Point Lighthouse and then to Five Islands Lobster where you'll end your journey with an amazing lobster roll!

5. Historic Bath, Sagadahoc County

One of the most notable maritime towns in the state is also one of the most fun to visit! From historic riverside areas to performing arts, this is one town you can easily spend a week in!

6. The Maine Donut Road Trip

7. Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park
