There’s A Wildlife Park Near New Orleans That’s Perfect For A Family Day Trip
The Global Wildlife Center in Folsom offers a unique safari experience where families can get up close to exotic and endangered animals.
There's a hidden gem over in Folsom, and it's perfect for a family day trip. Just a short drive and you can take a wild safari ride and get up close to exotic animals like zebras, giraffes, kangaroos, and many more. Kids and adults have been enjoying the Global Wildlife Center for years, and if you haven't already been, it's time to make some plans.
The Global Wildlife Center is home to over 4,000 exotic and endangered animals from all over the world.
It’s the largest free-roaming wildlife preserve of its kind in the country.
This 900 acre preserve has been in business for 25 years.
If you grew up in the area, chances are you remember this place fondly.
During your one and a half hour guided Safari Wagon tour, you’ll learn about these magnificent creatures and even be able to feed them.
It’s the only place in the area where you can get nose to nose with giraffes, zebras, camels, and many other types of animals.
The animals will come right up to the wagon.
Heads up, the zebras have been known to bite.
This is a wonderful activity for the family. Kids and adults will absolutely love getting to feed and pet some of these animals.
I's not every day that you get to pet a giraffe.
You can find the Global Wildlife Center at 26389 Highway 40, Folsom, Louisiana 70437.
They’re open seven days a week from 8:30am-5pm but we’d recommend calling ahead just in case they’re sold out.
