The Remote Winery In New Orleans That’s Picture Perfect For A Day Trip
Although New Orleans definitely does its share of drinking, but it's not necessarily known for wine. Yet, there are some really special wineries in the area that we think you are going to love. You should start with exploring Pontchartrain Vineyards...it's a truly special place.
Pontchartrain Vineyards has been in operation at 81250 Old Military Rd. in Bush, LA since 1991.
In that time, they've developed some of the most tasty wines made in Louisiana.
All of the grapes are grown on site at the vineyard, making for a beautiful place to relax and unwind through the seasons.
Some really awesome farmers make sure that all of the grapes are only picked when they are at the height of flavor.
While wine and Louisiana seafood aren't always a common pair, this vineyard will open your eyes to the pairings that can make crawfish and other favorites really pop.
Zydeco is a Rose, which has a truly unique combination of flavors. Flavors include grapefruit, star fruit, ginger, and notes of madeira and tomato leaf.
Roux St. Louis is the Bois de Blanc, and it's also a very unique blend.
Some of the flavors include lemongrass, kiwi, and peaches, which give a slightly tart taste to the wine.
You'll get the chance to enjoy the full selection of the wines here when you pay a visit to the winery.
You'll enjoy getting to know all the different wines and the really fun people who work here.
And of course, one of the best parts of the whole winery are the regular Jazz N the Vines concert series.
You'll enjoy listening to awesome music as you sip on wine and soak up all the beauty this winery has to offer!
