When most people think of vineyards, their minds probably go to California, France, Italy… literally any other place than Louisiana. We may not be known for our wines, but we definitely have a few vineyards in the Bayou State that are producing some top-quality wines. This hidden vineyard in Louisiana is certainly worthy of its own day trip, and you’re going to love it.

Located in West Monroe, Landry Vineyards is a family owned and operated hidden gem that’s been around for decades.

The vineyard was established by Jeff and Libby Landry in 1999. They planted their first grapes along two acres in Folsom, Louisiana and became licensed as a Louisiana Native Winery in 2003.

After Hurricane Katrina in 2005, the Landrys decided to relocate to West Monroe.

The rolling hills and beautiful views make Landry Vineyards a hidden paradise right in Ouachita Parish that's worthy of a road trip from any corner of the state.

When you arrive at the 20-acre site, you’ll think you’ve been transported to Napa Valley.

The incredible views will make you second guess whether you’re still in Louisiana.

Landry Vineyards offers tours from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. every Saturday.

No reservations are required, but it’s recommended you give them a call ahead of time if you have a larger group.

During your tour, you’ll explore the vineyard, cellar, winery, crush pad, and bottling facility.

The tour takes approximately an hour, and you’ll learn everything about the process of making wine, from grape to glass.

And, of course, you’ll want to sample some of these local Louisiana wines!

Tastings are offered Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and cost $10 per person.

From whites to reds, you'll probably end up buying a few bottles to take home with you.

Landry Vineyards also hosts an excellent summer concert series that has become quite popular, so try to time your visit around one of these fun outdoor events.
