The Creasey Mahan Nature Preserve is located just 20-30 minutes north of Louisville in Goshen, Kentucky. This 170 acre nature preserve offers a range of activities that are perfect for the family, including 9 miles of trails, a playground, an educational nature center, and the various monthly events that are often held there. It's a wonderful place to teach your children about Kentucky nature, or to simply take a leisurely stroll.

Just looking at the gorgeous green forests in this preserve makes me want to stop typing and go out on a hike myself! Most of the trails are pretty and easy, making it great for a family trip. There's no fee to enter the park and you're even allowed to camp on the premises overnight.
There's a fun and educational nature center that kids will love.
The nature center is the main educational facility, and provides dioramas and fun activities to teach kids about Kentucky wildlife. The center has a range of topics to learn about, such as fossils, types of wood, species of birds, and more. There are crafts and a fun scavenger hunt that your family will love!
The educational center is open only on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10am-2pm.

Beautiful deer, numerous species of birds, butterflies, and other insects call this preserve home, and it's an awesome experience to observe these incredible animals in nature. Children will love spotting the different plants and animals that they learn about as you enjoy a fun family walk through the wooded trails.

Be sure to check their website often for upcoming events! The next event hosted here will be a Halloween party for kids on October 1st, featuring a haunted house, face painting, hayrides, and more fun activities. There will be stations to trick-or-treat with your little one as well.
The preserve is pet-friendly.
All dogs are welcome to join you at the nature preserve, as long as they are on a leash. At the entrance is a convenient water fountain for your pooch to hydrate.
