The One Kentucky Town Everyone Must Visit This Fall

Berea, Kentucky, is a charming small town that comes alive in the fall with scenic hiking, shopping, festivals, and rich history.

Small towns are the place to be during fall in Kentucky. Many of them come to life with farmer's markets, festivals and, of course, beautiful autumn color. One particular town in central Kentucky is simply stunning in the fall with ample opportunity for scenic hiking, small town shopping, festivals, and history. Berea is known as the Folk Arts and Crafts Capital of Kentucky, and there's even more to love about this charming town this time of year.

During your visit to Berea, you have to spend time browsing and shopping.

Chestnut Street is decked out for the season and is a lovely place to wander on a fall day. You also need to stop by Artisan Village to get a true sense of what Berea is all about.

If you're in town on a Tuesday or Saturday, you should also stop by the Berea Farmer's Market.

Pick out some local produce, fresh flowers, and of course a pumpkin or two to celebrate the season.

Berea College is a fantastic spot for a nice stroll on a crisp fall day.

This historic college is lined with vibrant trees and picturesque brick buildings. The college adds more charm to an already eclectic town.

And of course when in Berea, you must spend time hiking one of the numerous trails in the area, all of which are perfect for fall.

The Indian Fort Mountain Trails, shown above, are a great choice.

The nearby hike to Anglin Falls is a favorite and as you can see from the photo above, the colorful leaves make the waterfall even more magical.

The overlook areas in Berea allow for some of the best vistas in the state. And as you can see from the photos above, the views are especially breathtaking when splattered with fall color.
