History means antiques, which they have plenty of here in town, especially at The Ellinwood Emporium. And visiting the Emporium is just one of the things to do in Ellinwood.

Dine at the Lone Wolf or Annie Mae's where you're treated like a local and served like family. Of course, the whole town feels like home if you've ever lived in a town this size before. It's just so cozy!

If you're here to see the cattle drive, it's not something you'll find just anywhere!

It's a small town of about 2,000 people that prides itself on preserving history while still making it interesting for those living today.

If you're creeped out by this hole in the ground, you're not the only one. It looks a bit spooky, but we assure you it's just a set of stairs leading to treasure.

The treasure is alcohol, of course. It wasn't so easy to get back then in Kansas!

Underneath the hotel, you'll find an underground saloon, hidden from the public's sight, and usually only open for tours and rare nights when they serve drinks.

Just look at those classic chairs and a bar that's probably served hundreds.

It's a prohibition-style speakeasy, kept guarded by their doorman who expects to hear the secret password (posted weekly on Facebook) before you can enter. Can you believe you can sit where cowboys from the 1800s used to hang their hats?
