This Is The Absolute Best Town In Iowa To Visit During The Halloween Season
Atkins, Iowa, offers unique Halloween events at Bloomsbury Farm, including family-friendly activities and the terrifying Scream Acres.
For Halloween lovers, the country is calling - Iowa is full of amazing attractions ranging from the gently spooky to the downright terrifying. Hayrides, corn mazes, haunted houses, and costume parades are all around this time of year. But for the most unique Halloween events in Iowa, spooky-season lovers know to head to the small town of Atkins. Home to just over two thousand people and one top-notch farm, Atkins plays host to a unique two-in-one event every year. Bloomsbury Farm, one of the town's top attractions, hosts all-ages Halloween events every day - before transforming into the terrifying Scream Acres at night, home to multiple haunted attractions. Which one is more your speed? This October, head to Atkins and find out for yourself!
It's Harvest Festival time again at Bloomsbury Farm, and the all-ages event is open every day.
For a $16 online fee or $20 at the gate, families can enjoy all the local activities including pumpkin bowling, a western town, and access to the delicious refreshments.
The star attraction is definitely the ten-acre corn maze, entering its fiftieth season as the top attraction in Atkins.
The farm also regularly hosts family-friendly Halloween events like costume parties and movie screenings.
But on select nights when the sun goes down, it turns into a place of terror. Welcome to Scream Acres, Iowa's top haunted attraction.
You'll encounter four terrifying attractions, including the clown-filled 3D Sinister Silo.
If you escape the clowns, you can test your mettle against the zombies of Cell Block Z and the ghouls of The Slaughterhouse.
The corn maze turns into a haunted maze at night, and you never know who - or what - will be lurking around every corner. So come on in and pay them a visit...
