3. Mississippi Palisades State Park
This 2,500-acre Mississippi state park is located at the confluence of the Mississippi and Apple Rivers. The area is surrounded by large, 500-foot bluffs covered in forest, which you can enjoy atop one of the park's four scenic overlooks. Ozzie's Point, Louis Point, Oak Point, and Lookout Point can be accessed from either the north or south entrance to this beautiful and unique state park in Jo Daviess County.
4. Illinois Beach State Park
There is not a lot of Lake Michigan shoreline left. At Illinois Beach State Park, you can see 6.5 miles of shore. Walk on the beach and go in the water. You can take a boat out there. There are also some trails to go through forested areas.
5. Nauvoo
