The shores of Cape Henlopen are among the nicest in the nation. Splash in the sea or just lie out on the sand - you'll find your paradise here.

During the day, it's worth taking a trip across the bay on the Cape May-Lewes Ferry.

Here are some details about the ferry that you'll need to know.

When the ferry drops you off, you'll be in one of the prettiest towns in the world. Stroll the shops and restaurants of Cape May and enjoy some time truly relaxing.

If you're not looking to shop all day, you might want to set aside time to explore Cape Henlopen State Park.

Both history buffs and nature lovers will find something incredible here. Miles of trails wind around the park, and you can easily get to the decommissioned Fort Miles, which was once an important military base during World War II.

You can even climb up to the top of one of the Observation Towers - read about it right here.

Take one day of your vacation to travel to the neighboring town of Rehoboth Beach, where you'll want to explore the entire boardwalk.

Snack on boardwalk favorites such as Thrasher's Fries and Dolles Salt Water Taffy until you're full of junk food regrets.

You can also kick it old school and enjoy an old fashioned burger from Gus and Gus, which has been a Rehoboth Beach staple for over 60 years.

If you want to get away from the crowds and off of the boardwalk, the entire downtown area has plenty of restaurants to choose from.

There's just one thing left to do before you wrap up any vacation in Lewes: catch the Breakwater Lighthouse at Sunset.

There's a reason this is the most photographed landmark in Delaware.
