Delaware has a long history with trains and the railroad. Several towns, like Delmar, were founded solely around the need for a railroad stop! The days of traveling across the country in a steam engine may be over, but that doesn't mean that there aren't plenty of Delaware train enthusiasts - if you love the history behind the steam engine and trains that helped build our state, this road trip is for you.
This trip will take you through all three of Delaware's counties on a quest for a train adventure!
Start your morning off with a trip to the Auburn Heights Preserve and Marshall Steam Museum.
The museum offers private tours for groups, or you can visit during their open house times. Learn more about the museum and the events they host here.
Next, head over to The Wilmington and Western Railroad - the historic rolling museum that will take you on the ride of a lifetime.
