As you can see from this 1913 postcard, Westport has long been a colorful community. Though the trolley has gone, the town has continued its shopping tradition, right down to the colorful buildings.
The town's downtown is full of restaurants and shops as far as the eye can see, wrapping around corners and over hills. Brick and stone buildings of various colors and boutiques stacked on top of one another make this town a day trip dream come true.
Most of the old buildings remain intact, though the interior has changed. This vibrant community is beloved and is often featured as a must see New England town.
But its most eccentric feature is the monopoly it's built on the river. You'll often see artists painting here, charmed by the red, blue, and green brick structures which house some pretty delicious dining options.
