And the best part is that all of these displays start on Thanksgiving or earlier, so you don't have to wait to enjoy them! Just load your loved ones into the car and prepare for a magical excursion.
With proper planning, this trip can be done in one evening.
Lucky for you, we already did the planning for you! At 200 miles, this four-hour drive will require a gas station stop and a break for dinner. But the trade-off is seeing some of the best Christmas lights in Connecticut. See for yourself!
1. Lantern Light Tours
From the end of November through Christmas, set off on a 70-minute light tour through the
target="_blank">Lantern Light Village, where you'll travel back through time on Friday and Saturday evenings. The tours run every 15 minutes starting at 5 p.m., but you'll want to buy your tickets early before they sell out. This incredible tour is set on Christmas Eve in 1876 and includes half a mile of immersive performance.

2. Quiet Corner Christmas
Editor's note: The folks that have put on this show for years have sold the house, so there won't be any more light displays coming from this house. We wish them the best in their new home!
Quiet Corner Christmas, an animated light show, moves to the music. Just tune in to 95.1 FM for a lighted concert as you cruise by, or pull over and jam out to a few songs. The Brooklyn house features light display shows during the Halloween and Christmas seasons.

3. Amarante's Winter Wonderland
Support the causes you care about by offering a donation when you visit Amarante's Winter Wonderland in Dayville, one of our favorite spots to see Christmas lights in Connecticut. Designed by Daniel Amarante, the festive estate features 160,000 twinkling lights, more than 40 inflatables, and several dozen Christmas trees awash in lights.

4. Holiday Light Fantasia
This drive-thru Christmas light display in Connecticut is nothing short of incredible. As you drive beneath the lighted tunnel and discover intricate lighted signs, you'll be reminded of just how magical the holidays are. The Christmas light display, which runs from Thanksgiving through January 1 annually, boasts more than one million lights and 200 lighted displays. All proceeds benefit the Channel 3 Kids Camp.
5. Lincoln Lights
Tune your radio to 98.1 FM when you visit Lincoln Lights in Orange. You'll be treated to a magical Christmas light display in Connecticut, synchronized to 15 songs. Donations are welcome with all proceeds benefiting the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The homeowners request that visitors do not turn around in their neighbors' driveways.
