The Middlesex County town has a population of around 7,000, so it's not particularly big, but it has an expansive history and several great attractions. Killingworth was founded in 1667 and named after the English town of Kenilworth. One major component of a great day trip is food. There are several great places to eat in Killingworth, and one of the best is La Foresta Restaurant. This classy Italian eatery opened up in 2014 and has an array of delicious meals from wood-fired pizza to burgers, an array of pasta dishes, and so much more. It's comfort food at its finest so even the pickiest of eaters should find something to love here.
