Sometimes we think we need to leave the state when in need of an excellent weekend getaway. But don’t discount the Natural State just yet! It might surprise you because we have quite a few Arkansas towns that are perfect for a quick escape, including Rogers. If you’re searching for a weekend getaway in Arkansas, we highly recommend that you head to NWA. There are so many things to do in Rogers, AR that you might end up staying longer than a weekend.
Located in northwest Arkansas, Rogers is the state’s 6th largest city, and it’s only getting bigger (and better).
According to the city’s website, Rogers is one of the fastest-growing places in the U.S. That doesn’t mean it’s lost its small town charm, though. The heart and soul of small town America is alive and well in Rogers.
Lots of cities claim to offer the best of both worlds, but Rogers truly delivers.
In Rogers, there’s the perfect mix of history, charm, and beauty. As you meander through the city, you’ll find innovative eateries and bustling shops amid architectural gems, historic sites, and gorgeous scenery.
Historic downtown Rogers is made for exploring and a must-visit when in the city.
The charming brick-lined streets of downtown Rogers are lined with mom-and-pop shops, art galleries, gourmet restaurants, unique boutiques, and museums.
Honeycomb Kitchen Shop is a can't-miss in downtown Rogers. Not only does the shop carry a slew of kitchen gadgets, but it offers cooking classes.
One of the biggest reasons to visit downtown Rogers, though, is the Daisy Airgun Museum, which is home to the world's largest Daisy BB gun.
But Rogers' offerings aren't contained to its downtown.
Lake Atalanta Park lies just east of downtown.
Brimming with perks, the park boasts playgrounds, fishing piers, and more than 10 miles of multi-use trail.
The Railyard Bike Park is another top choice for outdoor fun in Rogers.
A must-visit for bikers and thrill-seekers, Railyard Bike Park features a slope-style bike course that's suited for most skill levels. Don't want to lug your bike to Rogers? No problem; you can rent one from Phat Tire Bike Shop.
War Eagle Mill is probably Rogers' most famous site.
War Eagle Mill isn’t just the only working gristmill in Arkansas, but it’s a historic landmark of the Civil War. Today, it houses a store and a restaurant, which is known for its tasty homemade fare.
As far as lodging in Rogers goes, you can't beat Rocky Branch Resort.
Charmingly rustic, the resort is surrounded by an 11,000-acre state forest and a 55,000-acre deep water clear lake.
