9 Incredible Thrift Stores In Texas Where You’ll Find All Kinds Of Treasures
I’m not ashamed to say that some of my favorite outfits are from Goodwill. Why pay exorbitant amounts of money for something as trivial as clothing when I could find comparable styles for a fraction of the cost? That being said, Texas is full of some amazing thrift and antique stores where you can find amazing bargains on everything from apparel to furniture to vintage knick-knacks. Here are nine of the absolute best:
1. Thrift Giant (Dallas)
Everything in this store is color-coded by price, so sifting through the seemingly endless selections won't seem like such a daunting task. Many of the items are good quality as well, from high thread count sheets to designer purses. If you can get awesome items at a fraction of the cost, why wouldn't you?
2. Thrift Town (Austin)
If you're looking for an upgraded Goodwill, this is the jackpot. You'll find great deals on shoes, designer handbags, clothes, and pretty much everything else your heart could possibly desire. They also have major sales on holidays and 30% off kids' clothes every Tuesday!
3. The Cottage Shop (Houston)
Known mostly for its clothing selection, The Cottage Shop is full of unique pieces - both modern and vintage. Their shoe selection is also noteworthy, and the proceeds go towards The Women's Home so you can feel rewarded for supporting a good cause.
4. Lula B's (Dallas)
The items here aren't exactly cheap, but they are rare and will surely take you back in time. From retro diner chairs to vintage lamps, who knows what kinds of treasures you'll find?
5. Uncommon Objects (Austin)
Easily the most famed antique shop/thrift store in Austin, Uncommon Objects is known for its plethora of oddities and randomness. If you don't come out with at least one thing, you definitely didn't spend enough time looking.
6. House of the Naked (Houston)
House of the Naked is full of records from bands of all genres and vintage clothes galore. The best part? Almost everything is $20 or less. It doesn't get much better than that, y'all.
7. Curiosities (Dallas)
You'll have so much fun perusing all the bits and bobs here. From miscellaneous antiques to grandiose paintings and everything in between, you could easily spend hours browsing without even realizing it. Like many antique shops, the prices on some items aren't the most affordable, but the quality can't be beat.
8. Feathers Boutique (Austin)
Ladies, this one's for you. Feathers is full of vintage women's clothing and shoes from the 1920s all the way up to the 90s. So if you have an upcoming costume party or just like to give yourself a hit of nostalgia every now and then by throwing on a retro outfit, you need to check out this awesome place.
9. The Purple Cat (Houston)
The Purple Cat is a consignment shop consisting of two huge buildings (4000 square feet altogether) absolutely filled to the brim with knick knacks, clothes, and small furniture. The employees are friendly and the prices are exceptionally low - every thrift shopper's dream!
