We Texans know that the best restaurants are usually the most unassuming. Blink and you might miss this underrated joint in Santa Fe, but it’s definitely worth a visit. Kat’s Barbecue serves up some of the most tender, juicy, flavorful meat you’ll ever taste – see for yourself below.
You just might drive right past the building if you aren't looking for it, but we Texans know that places like that are usually where the best food can be found.
Menu options include plates with one or two meats and sides, sandwiches (pulled pork, brisket, sausage, or chopped beef), and loaded baked potatoes with beef or pork.
There are lunch specials on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday: a smoked prime rib sandwich, half-loaded baked potato, and a half chicken, respectively. The Saturday dinner special is a prime rib dinner with barbecue mashed potatoes and banana pudding for dessert.
The banana pudding is served in cups with Nilla wafers and whipped cream on top - yum! Pie by the slice and full pies are also available for dessert because no Southern meal is truly complete without a big slice of heaven.
