This Timeless 1940s Restaurant In Texas Sells The Best Burgers In America

Kincaid’s Hamburgers in Fort Worth, Texas, evolved from a grocery store to a beloved restaurant known for its nostalgic atmosphere and high-quality burgers.

Us Texans know the best food comes from places we'd least suspect: truck stops, hole-in-the-wall diners, and old-timey markets. Kincaid's Hamburgers in Fort Worth has been open for nearly 70 years, evolving from a quiet neighborhood grocery store into one of the city's most popular restaurants.

Opening in 1946, Kincaid's was the first area grocery store with a full-service meat market. One day, head butcher O.R. Gentry started cooking burgers on a small grill out back, and Fort Worth was never the same again.

These very shelves were cut in half to seat the rapid influx of customers rather than hold groceries. This long-standing institution quickly went from a quiet neighborhood market to one of the city's most popular restaurants.

Upon entering, a thick wave of nostalgia immediately envelopes your senses. Groceries from a bygone era bring back cherished childhood memories, while vintage signs and memorabilia take up every inch of all four walls.

Only the finest Black Angus chuck, free of any additives or preservatives, goes into these scrumptious creations. It's never frozen, ground fresh in-house, and cooked to perfection on a flat-top griddle.

Eight different burgers make up the menu, ranging from a no-frills classic to this behemoth with mayo, bacon, pimiento cheese, and grilled peppers + onions.

Several other delicious options like all-beef hot dogs, grilled cheese, and B.L.T. sandwiches are also available for those who aren't crazy about burgers. Everything is a winner at Kincaid's!

Leaving without trying one of the restaurant's famous hand-spun shakes would be a cardinal sin. Made with our beloved Blue Bell ice cream, every sip is better than the last.

You'll find the original location at 4901 Camp Bowie Blvd., Fort Worth, Texas 76107. Click here to see the full menu.
