You'll be hard-pressed to find a Tomball native who hasn't heard of - or enjoyed many a great meal at - Goodson's Cafe. Locals and visitors alike have frequented this tiny (yet legendary) eatery since 1950, and we see that tradition continuing for many years to come.
Upon stepping inside, you'll think you've entered a portal that leads back to yesteryear. Between the blue and white checkered tablecloths, vintage signs and other memorabilia, and red leather booths, the country-chic meets retro vibe will charm you into oblivion.
From appetizers to dessert, all-American fare reigns supreme at Goodson's. We recommend starting with a tried and true Southern staple: fried green tomatoes. Drizzled with ranch dressing, these crispy bites are the definition of Deep South comfort food.
As for the main course, you can't go wrong with their signature chicken-fried steak. Fried to golden perfection and deliciously moist on the inside, it's often considered to be the best chicken-fried steak in Texas. It's so big, it practically falls off the plate!
