7 Places In Texas To Get A Homecooked Thanksgiving Dinner If You Don’t Feel Like Cooking
Thanksgiving is fast approaching, and with our busy lives, some of us just won’t have time to spend hours in the kitchen preparing a feast – but that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy a meal of the same quality. Thanks to several restaurants across the state, those of us who lead full lives don’t have to suffer through the sadness of a store-bought turkey and canned cranberry sauce any longer. These 7 restaurants in Texas serve a Thanksgiving meal that’s so authentic, it’ll have you reminiscing on cherished childhood holiday memories.
This unassuming little joint serves up a Thanksgiving meal just like mama used to make. You can call ahead and pre-order a feast that feeds 10-12 people, or you can head to 4517 Southwest Pkwy
Wichita Falls, TX 76308 and dine in.
TwoRows sets out to provide busy Allen families with an equal, not lesser, quality Turkey Day meal than they could make at home. You can pre-order a turkey and all the traditional sides or come enjoy your meal in-house from 11AM-4PM on Thanksgiving Day. TwoRows is located at 711 Central Expressway in Allen, TX.
No matter what part of Texas you live in, you know and love Cracker Barrel. The homey atmosphere and delicious southern food make it an ideal dining place for us because it reminds us of Sunday dinner at grandma's house. If you don't want to cook this Thanksgiving, consider them your savior - their meal includes turkey, dressing, biscuits, sweet potato casserole, cranberry relish, mashed potatoes, and your choice of one of four pies. They expect to serve over 1.4 millions meals this season. It must be pretty delicious if that many people want it!
The antiquated Driskill Hotel will be serving Thanksgiving dinner from 1-6 PM on Thanksgiving Day. Reservations are required, and can be made by calling 512-391-7128. The menu will feature four courses plus dessert of all your favorite dishes done up a little fancier. Combining the amazing meal with the Great Gatsby-esque atmosphere makes for an unforgettable holiday. The hotel is located at 604 Brazos St, Austin, TX 78701.
Not only will this cute little burger joint be serving up turkey dinner on Thanksgiving, but it'll also be free for everyone from 11-3. You can find it at 3110 S 27th St
Abilene, TX 79605.
I know Denny's isn't the fanciest place to have Thanksgiving, but if you want some good homestyle food, it's actually quite underrated. They'll be offering all the traditional foods, but if you're feeling adventurous, try a Gobble Melt. It's basically a Thanksgiving sandwich filled with turkey, dressing, cranberry sauce, and Swiss cheese all on potato bread.
Of course I had to include every Texan's favorite little local cafe. The adorable Blue Bonnet Cafe will be serving Thanksgiving lunch until 1:45 this year so their employees can go home and enjoy the evening with their families. If you live in the Marble Falls area and don't feel like cooking, I'd highly recommend getting your meal here. Their pie is absolutely to die for, and the hospitality and ambiance of the restaurant makes it the perfect place to spend a day centered around togetherness with the ones you love most. Blue Bonnet Cafe is located at 211 US Hwy 281
Marble Falls, TX 78654.
Yum. Thanks to these restaurants, my dreams will be full of mashed potato mountains and pools of gravy for the next few weeks. Have you been to any of these places for your Thanksgiving meal? What other restaurants in Texas serve a mean Turkey Day dinner when you don’t have time to cook?
