Communing with nature doesn’t always have to involve a long drive out into the middle of nowhere. At Cattail Marsh in Texas, you can enjoy a peaceful escape from the daily grind without leaving city limits! This scenic boardwalk trail takes you out into lush wetlands teeming with life, and the views are out of this world.
Managed by the City of Beaumont, Cattail Marsh is located inside Terrell Park, a historic, 500-acre park dating back to 1929.
You could easily spend hours soaking up the scenery - and you can! The marsh is just minutes from all of the city's main attractions, so stay as long as you'd like.
Although the boardwalk is the main attraction, it isn't all there is to see.
Several other trails parallel the waterfront, proving unparalleled views and an overarching sense of tranquility.
The park is free and open to the public from 6 a.m. until 9 p.m. daily. Visit the official website or Facebook page to learn more.
