Hiding in the small town of Bridgeport, Yesterday's 50s Diner is a portal back to simpler times. Pull up in a classic car made before 1978 and get free fountain drinks for you and up to three guests!
Once you step inside, it's like the days of sock hops and poodle skirts never left. Checkered floors, vintage signs, and other retro memorabilia are reminiscent of soda fountains that defined teenage Friday nights way back when.
Grab a seat on a red leather barstool and chat up the friendly regulars. Losing track of time as you intently listen to someone's life story isn't an uncommon occurrence.
Prefer a regular table? No problem; there are plenty to choose from. Perhaps you'll get a front-row seat to watch Elvis give a showstopping performance.
As far as the food, it's exactly what you would expect of a mom-and-pop eatery. Everything is made in-house, the portions are huge, and service always comes with a toothy grin.
From thick, juicy burgers made with 100% USDA Choice Beef to chicken-fried steak to good old-fashioned liver & onions, rest-assured there's something for everyone on the menu. Oh, and don't dare forget about the sides. With options like onion rings, fried okra, mac 'n cheese, and coleslaw, you really just can't go wrong.
Tex-Mex, sandwiches, and filet mignon are among your other choices. Guests can also opt for the daily special, which features dishes like meatloaf, all-you-can-eat spaghetti, and fried catfish.
