Stay The Night In A Vintage VW Camper Van At Camp Holly In West Virginia
Camp Holly in Diana, West Virginia, offers unique camping experiences with vintage VW campers and various outdoor activities.
Not all campgrounds are created equal, and if you need proof, you’ll find it at Camp Holly! Truly one-of-a-kind, the campground has three distinct villages – one of which boasts a vintage VW camper. The unique accommodations are only made better by the campground’s amenities, which include everything from paddle boats to animal encounters.
Camp Holly is located in Diana. A prime place for a rustic retreat, the 22-acre campground is nestled in the heart of the mountains of West Virginia.
The location is just part of what Camp Holly is known for. Amazing accommodations are another hallmark of the campground.
Sure to appeal to campers of all kinds, the grounds boast three camping villages with accommodations that run the gamut from cabins and RV and tent sites to “glamping structures,” like a vintage VW camper van.
Dubbed the Gypsy Gene, the 1956 VW Weekender Westfalia Wolfsburg edition camper van is the pride and joy of the campground’s owner – and it’s easy to see why!
Authentically old-fashioned, it’s been painstakingly restored, and the effort was well worth it because the vintage VW is brimming with retro charm.
It’s also brimming with perks, like a comfy bed and seating area. The perks aren’t contained to the camper van’s interior, though.
Just outside, there’s a fire pit with seating area and pond views.
Its location is another perk. Not only is it situated creek-side in a shady grove, but it’s only a short distance from the camp store and bathhouse. It’s also near the campground’s resident goats, who, by the way, love to be visited and fed by guests.
Worried about the camper van’s tight quarters? Don’t be! Camp Holly boasts lots of recreational opportunities, including hiking, biking, fishing, and paddle-boating.
Can’t wait to stay in the Gypsy Gene? Keep in mind that, because the camper van is a delicate antique, it’s for adults only. (The campground has other rentals that are kid-friendly.)
